1939年テネシー州生まれ、ピアニストで18歳から活動していたらしい。
1967年DadeからBenny Latimoreとしてデビューし69年まで在籍する。
1973年に同じTK傘下のGladesへ移籍しLatimoreと改名し再デビューしている、移籍2作目のStormy Mondayをヒットさせてから商業的に順調でメジャーの仲間入りを果たしているが、ディープ度を失っているのは残念！。
このCDはDadeに残した作品に未発表を2曲を含んだ、全16曲が収載されていてお買い得感があります。
私のラティモア初体験が「Stormy Monday」で、そのまま嫌いになっていたので、今回も購入を迷ったんですが買ってよかった1枚です。
